Alternator
This page provides detailed information about the OEM alternator used in the Honda RC51, including its specifications, connector details, and visual references.
Alternator Overview
The Honda RC51 (RVT1000R) OEM alternator requires minimal modification and is optional for most builds.
In my case, the sheathing on the alternator leads was significantly worn and tattered. To address this, I wrapped the leads with Raychem DR‑25 heat‑shrink tubing and sealed the ends with Raychem SCL encapsulant for improved durability and protection.
Initially, I intended to retain the OEM connector but struggled to de‑pin it after removing only one terminal. Ultimately, I replaced the OEM connector with a DT04‑3P connector. This modification required corresponding changes to the rectifier/regulator to ensure compatibility.
While these alterations are optional, they contribute to a cleaner, more professional appearance — even if the components are not typically visible.
Connector Data
OEM connector specifications for the alternator will be updated in the future.
For my custom application, I used a DT04‑3P connector.
Pin assignment is not critical for the alternator, as it is not polarity‑sensitive, which simplifies the wiring process.
