Fuel Rails
Honda RC51 Throttle Body Fuel Lines Summary
To remove the fuel injectors, you must first detach the plated fuel lines connected to each injector top clamp mount. This section provides essential information about the O-rings that seal between these clamps and the fuel lines themselves.
OEM O-rings for the Honda RC51 throttle body fuel lines are not listed in parts diagrams and are challenging to source from suppliers like Partzilla. However, suitable replacements can be readily obtained from retailers such as McMaster-Carr. The required O-ring size is 12mm ID x 2mm wide, and you will need six of them. These O-rings are slightly thicker than the OEM versions; however, when the fuel rails are fully tightened, the O-rings compress to form a reliable seal. Ensure the O-ring material is fuel-resistant, such as Viton fluoroelastomer, to withstand exposure to gasoline.
Below are links to the O-rings I used from McMaster-Carr:
Additional Notes: When installing the O-rings, inspect the fuel line and clamp surfaces for debris or damage to ensure a proper seal. Apply a thin layer of fuel-safe lubricant (e.g., silicone-based lubricant) to the O-rings during installation to prevent pinching and ensure a secure fit. Always torque the fuel rail bolts to the specifications outlined in the Honda RC51 service manual (typically 10-12 Nm) to avoid over-compression or damage to the O-rings.
